Pavement Marking in Toronto: Four Methods, One Crew
Pavement marking in Toronto covers far more than paint. This page explains the four methods we use, how they compare and which standards apply, then routes you to the right service. If you are ready for a price, our homepage covers line painting in Toronto with current price ranges.
1. Airless Paint
Waterborne traffic paint applied with Graco LineLazer 3900 and 5900 airless rigs. It is fast, affordable and lasts 12-24 months. Most parking stalls use it. See parking lot line painting.
2. Hot-Applied Thermoplastic
Melted and applied at about 400F, fused to asphalt, lasting 3-5 years. Best for fire routes, crosswalks, arrows and forklift lanes. See thermoplastic line marking.
3. Preformed Tape
Factory-made markings with pressure-sensitive adhesive or heat-applied preformed thermoplastic, lasting 5-7 years at crosswalks and intersections.
4. Methyl Methacrylate (MMA)
Cold plastic that cures chemically into a hard, durable layer. Good for green bike lanes, anti-skid surfaces and some warehouse floors. See warehouse line painting.
Glass Beads and Night Visibility
Glass bead reflective media make markings shine under headlights. Drop-on beads go onto wet paint or hot thermoplastic, and intermix beads inside thermoplastic surface as it wears.
Standards Behind Every Line
Layouts follow Ontario Traffic Manual Book 11, with references to the TAC Geometric Design Guide and MTO specifications for materials. Accessible parking follows AODA. We document compliance with every job.
We work across downtown Toronto, Mississauga and the whole GTA. Ask which method fits your site.
